Pride Month: We Have Always Been Full of Magic

Womxn on the Moon has always been a safe space to celebrate all LGBTQ+ humans. Since 2020, we have strived to be an online jewelry boutique where diverse humans can buy gifts that honor their experiences. We provide a unique way for individuals to create customized adornments that are a source of meaningful empowerment. 54% of consumers don’t feel culturally represented in advertising, but 71% expect brands to promote diversity and inclusion. We are disrupting how ecommerce is diversified. We use handmade resin and crystal jewelry designs and intersectional storytelling to create a safe space for individuals to celebrate their identities. Why? Because even in modern times, we are still fighting to be seen as our authentic selves.

Today, the struggle for the LGBTQ+ community to be heard, recognized, and honored continues. During Pride, I am excited to celebrate the joy of being seen as my authentic self, and, I simultaneously know that I exist in a world that views me as a second class citizen. In addition, trans and non-binary individuals have been forced to acclimate to an incredibly heteronormative world, which can put the lives of young LGBTQ+ folks at risk. We know that we still remain drastically underrepresented in the world, so we've created jewelry that allows us to show up boldly as a queer community.

Over the years, WOTM has designed creative collections to highlight the queer community and celebrate our identity. This has included the Pride Collection, which contains vibrant rainbow designs that feature a variety of natural stones. It has extended to our Courage Gift Set, featuring beautiful iridescent stainless steel metal and garnet crystals, a symbol of the courage it takes for LGBTQ+ individuals to be their authentic selves. And finally, we honor the LGBTQ+ community with our pronoun necklaces, a chain necklace or metal bracelet design that can be engraved with your personal pronouns. These items are not just fun designs that make a bold statement, but an affirmation to our community that you are seen.

The moment to take up space in the world is now, and I'm always wishing for the LGBTQ+ community to be given the space to be who we are. I honor the voices of those who came before me: Darling, I want my gay rights now.
